This is a very special moment today because I have been presented with 'Three visions of George Washington' that I will read out to you, but first let me greet Sraddhalu. Namaste.
It's a long passage, but it's well worth our hearing. Someone who was with George Washington at Valley Forge during the winter of 1777 overheard Washington tell an officer that an angel had revealed a prophetic vision of America to him. The passage of more than 150 years has since obscured the origins of this narrative, leading many who encounter it now to believe that it is a true account of an incident from Washington's life. So we begin. 'The last time I ever saw Anthony Sherman was on the 4th of July, 1859, in Independence Square. He was then 99 years old, his dimming eyes rekindled as he gazed upon Independence Hall, which he had come to visit once more. "I want to tell you an incident of Washington's life, which no one alive knows of except myself, and which, if you live, you will before long see verified." He said, "From the opening of the Revolution we experienced all phases of fortune, good and ill. The darkest period we ever had, I think, was when Washington, after several reverses, retreated to Valley Forge, where he resolved to pass the winter of 1777. Ah, I often saw the tears coursing down our dear commander's careworn cheeks as he conversed with a confidential officer about the condition of his soldiers. You have doubtless heard the story of Washington's going to the thicket to pray. Well, he also used to prey to God in secret for aid and comfort. One day, I remember well, the chilly winds whistled through the leafless trees. Though the sky was cloudless and the sun shone brightly, he remained alone in his quarters nearly all afternoon. When he came out, I noticed that his face was a shade paler than usual, and there seemed to be something on his mind of more than ordinary importance. Returning just after dusk, he dispatched an orderly to the quarters of the officer I mentioned who was in attendance at that time. After a preliminary conversation of about half an hour, Washington, gazing upon his companion with that strange look of dignity that he alone could command, said to the latter, 'I do not know if it was due to the anxiety of my mind, or what, but this afternoon, as I was preparing a dispatch, something seemed to disturb me. Looking up, I beheld, standing opposite me, a singularly beautiful being. So astonished was I, for I had given strict orders not to be disturbed, that it was some moments before I found language to inquire the cause of the visit. A second, a third, and even a fourth time did I repeat my question, but received no answer from my mysterious visitor, except a slight raising of the eyes. By this time I felt strange sensations spreading through me, and I would have risen, but the riveted gaze of the being before me rendered volition impossible. My tongue had become useless, as though it had become paralyzed. A new influence, mysterious, potent, irresistible, took possession. All I could do was to gaze steadily, vacantly, at my unknown visitor. Gradually, the surrounding atmosphere seemed to become filled with sensations and grew luminous. Everything about me seemed to rarify, including the mysterious visitor'".

I just want to pause here just to make a comment about this description. You remember this was in context of our description last time about the soul of America being female, feminine and this is the vision which George Washington is describing. When he first sees this beautiful figure, he addresses in his normal state of consciousness. When she doesn't respond, he is transfigured and then her influence causes this shift where the whole description is one of a deepening interiorization and he can't speak anymore, he can't move and he is as if shifted out into a deeper and altered state of consciousness and now this whole sense of light, so he is shifted to a deeper and higher state of perception in which the rest of the experience takes place and this being which appears before him has the power to literally force him to get into that state. And it's come for a purpose to give him this experience and is literally compelling the experience on him. I'm just putting this as a context so we appreciate what we are reading.

He continues, "I began to feel as one dying, or rather to experience the sensations which I have sometimes imagined accompany dissolution. I did not think, I did not reason, I did not move. All were alike impossible. I was only conscious of gazing fixedly, vacantly, at my companion. Presently, I heard a voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn'. While at the same time, my visitor extended an arm eastwardly. I now beheld a heavy vapor at some distance, rising fold upon fold. This gradually dissipated. And I looked upon a strange scene. Before me lay spread out in one fast plane all the countries of the world - Europe, Asia, Africa and America. I saw rolling and tossing between Europe and America the billows of the Atlantic, and between America lay the Pacific. 'Son of the Republic', said the same mysterious voice as before, 'look and learn'. At that moment I beheld a dark, shadowy being as an angel standing, or rather floating, in mid-air between Europe and America. Dipping water out of the ocean in the hollow of his hand, he cast some on Europe. Immediately a cloud raised from these countries and joined in mid-ocean. For a while it remained stationary, and then moved slowly Westward until it enveloped America in its murky folds. Sharp flashes of lightning gleamed through it at intervals, and I heard the smothered groans and cries of the American people. A second time the angel dipped water from the ocean and sprinkled it out as before. The dark cloud was then drawn back to the ocean, in whose billows it sank from view. A third time, I heard the mysterious voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn'. I cast my eyes upon America, and beheld villages and towns and cities string up one after another until the whole land form, the Atlantic to the Pacific, was dotted with them. Again I heard the mysterious voice say, 'Son of the Republic, the end of the century cometh, look and learn'. And this time, the dark shadowy angel turned his face southward and from Africa, I saw an ill-omened specter approach our land. It flitted slowly over every town and city of the latter. The inhabitants presently set themselves in battle against each other. As I continued looking, I saw a bright angel on whose brow rested a crown of light on which was traced the word UNION bearing the American flag, which he placed between the divided nation. He said, Remember, ye are brethren. Instantly the inhabitants, casting down their weapons, became friends once more, and united around the national standard. Again, I heard the mysterious voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn'. At this, the dark, shadowy angel placed a trumpet to his lips and blew three distinct blasts, and taking water from the ocean, he sprinkled it on Europe, Asia and Africa. Then my eyes beheld a fearful scene. From each of these countries arose thick black clouds that were soon joined into one, and throughout this mass, there gleamed a dark red light, by which I saw hordes of armed men, who, moving with the cloud, marched by land and sailed by sea to America, which country was enveloped in the volume of cloud. And I dimly saw these vast armies devastate the whole country, and burned the villages, towns, and cities that I had beheld springing up. As my ears listened to the thundering of the cannon, the slashing of swords, and the shouts and cries of millions in mortal combat, I again heard the mysterious voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn'. When the voice had ceased, the dark angel placed his trumpet once more to his mouth and blew a long and fearful blast. Instantly, a light as of a thousand suns shone down from above me, and pierced and broke into fragments the dark cloud which enveloped America. At the same moment, the angel upon whose head still shone the word UNION, and who bore our national flag in one hand and a sword in the other, descended from the heavens, attended by legions of white spirits. These immediately joined the inhabitants of America, who I perceived were well-nigh overcome, but who, immediately taking courage again, closed up their broken ranks and renewed the battle. Again, amid the fearful noise of the conflict, I heard the mysterious voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn'. As the voice ceased, the shadowy angel, for the last time, dipped water from the ocean, and sprinkled it upon America. Instantly the dark cloud rolled back, together with the armies it had brought, leaving the inhabitants of the land victorious. Then, once more, I beheld the villages, towns, and cities, springing up where I had seen them before, while the bright angel, planting the azure standard he had brought in the midst of them, cried with a loud voice, "While the stars remain and the heavens send down dew upon the earth, so long shall the union last!" And taking from his brow the crown on which blazoned the word UNION, he placed it upon the standard, while the people, kneeling down, said, Amen. The scene instantly began to fade and dissolve, and I at last saw nothing but the rising, curling vapor I had at first beheld. This also disappeared, and I found myself once more gazing upon the mysterious visitor, who in the same voice I had heard before said, 'Son of the Republic, what you have seen is thus interpreted. Three great perils will come upon the Republic. The most fearful is the third. But in this greatest conflict, the whole world, united, shall not prevail against her. Let every child of the Republic learn to live for his God, his land, and the Union'. With these words, the vision vanished, and I started from my seat and felt that I had seen a vision where had been shown me the birth, progress, and destiny of the United States". "Such, my friends", said the venerable narrator, "were the words I heard from Washington's own lips, and America will do well to profit by them".

Can we go through those three visions?
[Sraddhalu] It's something quite intense.
Narad (0:19:25)
Very intense. Very intense.
Sraddhalu (0:19:27):
Prophetic. And this was written by Charles Wesley Alexander in a journal soon after. So it's quite an old text and in the evening talks where some of the sadhaks were sitting with Sri Aurobindo, where they would ask questions, casually sometimes. So this is something from one of the text which was in the Evening talks. One of the disciples asks Sri Aurobindo about the future of America and he answers, "have you not heard about the three visions of George Washington?" and that's the text. So he does not tell you what is the destiny but he just mentions this and that's why we give great credibility to this description. And of course the authenticity of it, you can feel in the very narration, you can't make up something like that. But in the text here which I have, the writer who is quoting this from Sri Aurobindo says, later we heard from our elders in our ashram about George Washington that Sri Aurobindo had come upon earth as an emanation, as George Washington. So, they are saying that they heard from some ashramite sadhaks that George Washington was an emanation. It is an interesting thing.
Narad (0:21:12):
I think Purani was copying these texts down. So if we can put into some context the three visions...
Sraddhalu (0:21:18):
Yes. What does it evoke to you?
Narad (0:21:22):
Well, of course, the resistance and the darkness of the southern part of America fighting against unity. The second seems to be World War II and the potential for total destruction. The third I do not know.
Sraddhalu (0:21:51):
The third is what is perhaps ongoing.
[Narad] I think so.
[Sraddhalu] And you see it in one of the forms in which you see it is not obvious, people find themselves taking extreme positions, one for, one against and there is no reason you can articulate for why it should be so extreme and it seems to be part of a larger such division that you see all over the world if you look at all the countries in the particular form of the conflict today and by today I would say in the last two years generally you see everywhere in society a kind of hard division often it is centered around the head of state but the head of state is only a symbol who stands for something or other half the population, let's say, is totally against and violently against and the other half of the population is totally for and violently for and between the two there is no in-between. You see the same pattern in France, there are people who completely support what the government is doing, there are people who are completely against and society is as if divided with a certain force. The same you will see the whole issue of Brexit which was mentioned last time there are those who are for and those who are against but there is no in-between.
[Narad] Immigration, the same.
Sraddhalu (0:23:32):
The common theme which you see across all these countries is the theme of immigration. It's all over Europe. Brexit really is all about immigration finally and yet no one wants to speak about that as the core issue. They speak of economics, they speak of polity, military but no one talks about immigration which is the real issue. And the same thing in the other countries in Europe and in America, it comes to that finally. It takes symbolically the form of the border walls or policies of the current government or some unrelated issues but they are symbolic. The issue really is of some perspective, some sense of priority against which there is a complete division and conflict. I have seen this in families in America where one of the brothers is on this side, the other is on that side and they will not speak for months together. Initially it was quite bad and then they come to a kind of a via media where they will not talk about the issues which divide and pretend like it's not there but you can feel that the gap is there. And the core issue behind that as I see it is the struggle of what we have spoken before, the deep state and the light of the truth or we will say the soul of the nations which represent the future of the world and the ego of the nations which represent the destruction and both have put forward symbolic representations. The ego can easily imitate forms of the soul. It can easily give a positive twist to any story. For example in America, it can be it is often it takes this form that they say, 'we are liberal', meaning we accept all variations of viewpoints, we stand for freedom of speech. But the liberals today, those who call themselves liberals, in fact are the most violently against free speech, are the most harsh in their censoring of someone else's right to differ from them. And it somehow doesn't make sense. This situation was not there five or ten years ago. And it's formed rapidly in the last few years. And on the other side there is a complete other view, the people who stand for something which is a freedom of speech but you find their exaggerations of a kind which of course don't seem acceptable they seem a misuse of the freedom of speech. Both sides end up effectively in some way as if wanting to suppress the other viewpoint and how do you resolve this and that's the nature of the division which you're seeing. It's so harsh you do not see a way out. But to me it's really the conflict between the soul values and the ego values. In America, the form of it, which I briefly touched upon last time was, the ego value is what you see as Uncle Sam, this pretty ugly old man, and he is dressed in all the right symbols of the Union flag etc. He points his finger at you and says your country needs you to go to war, to die for your country. All that is great except what are you going to war for? If you look at the last 20 years, especially after 2001, when there was the 9-11 attacks and the invasion of the Middle East. You've had American soldiers, young people going, fighting and then for what? Are they trying to defend their country? No. Are they trying to protect somebody? No. They're just trying to push forward an agenda of the deep state to seize upon, to control natural resources, to control global economies and you have, I believe, the US presence in something like more than a hundred countries, military presence. Doing what? we don't know, keeping peace? not really. And all of this has young Americans laying down their life for what for the deep state they are literally fodder cannon fodder as they say. But was this also not true in Vietnam? Vietnam was the turning point. This was one of the hugest. It was the turning point. I was told that before that the Mother had great hopes for the United States and of course the connection between India and the United States for the future for the Spiritual work that is to be done and after Vietnam she said the whole situation has changed because that was the time when the deep state came forward and the ego seized upon the power centers and especially the military and it took this perverse form. Since then it's been swinging to and fro and after 2001 it entrenched itself on the side of the deep state. What happened was 9-11 was used by the deep state as a shock point and within a few days, to a shocked nation a series of orders were passed in which the government created new institutions to control, to monitor the citizens, to reduce freedom, to bring in greater monitoring and control. And you cannot come out with a detailed framework like this within a few days. It had been prepared in advance and 9-11 was used as the trigger point to ram through and people just said, oh yeah, just do whatever is needed for our protection. They were so scared and it was a strategy of the deep state. After that things have got so badly entrenched. You have officially monitoring of every communication by every citizen. Even though under US law the US government cannot monitor its own citizens unless there's special cause and you get a special permission of the FISA court which justifies this under the grounds of terrorism. The way they played the text was if you had to monitor X, you could monitor all the connections that X had and their connections and their connections. Now you go down three levels, you are pretty much monitoring the whole population. And all this was a misuse of the fear raised in people.
Narad (0:30:16):
There are so many theories about 9-11. Have you had any insights into it?
Sraddhalu (0:30:22):
Yes, I think if you look with an open mind at all the documentation that is there, it's obvious that elements in the government were aware that it was being prepared, that they allowed it to happen, used it for the purpose of entrenching the deep state. There are elements to it which you cannot explain otherwise. And the behavior of the govt in trying to suppress it and things like that. Something, it is something so stunning when you look at the form in which it was done. It is something so stunning it has to be too big to, it's so big that you cannot believe that they would dare to do it to trick the people. But there's a document which is there a few years before which is authored by some of those who were part of Bush's cabinet, where they say that to be able to get the support of the US citizens for going to war in the Middle East, it would need a special incident something like a Pearl Harbor incident to shock people in order to get their support. And they were the ones who were in power when this took place. I'm not sure if it makes sense for us to go into details of, examples of the kind of cover-up which was there, but the whole thing was so well planned, the people who owned the towers had just a few months before bought special insurance against terrorism. The company which controlled the security for the towers was owned by George Bush's brother. And two weeks before the 9-11 attacks, they had shut down all the monitoring cameras for some internal repairs. And of course, their people came in, set up things. And what you see is the collapse of a building as has never happened in human history from a fire. You have a jet fuel burning which is not enough to melt steel. If you look at the building before the concrete structure is made, it is primarily steel, rods of steel all the way through. Steel does not collapse, even if it melts, it bends, it does not collapse. And what you see is a series of collapsing movements as if a building is being torn down with bombs and you see bursts of the bombs on the side. And what's interesting is, and I've seen the animation, the detailed slow motion of this, you see parts of concrete breaking away and as they break away they become powder in the air. You cannot explain this by fire. And here you have a fire on a particular floor where steel is supposed to have melted, which does not happen by the way with jet fuel and conveniently just in front of the building collapse you have the passports of the attackers, paper which has not burnt and someone picks it up and you know who are the attackers within an hour. It's unbelievable. The other example is after the whole building collapses, the steel which is inside remains molten for weeks and again this is not normal. Jet fuel does not keep molten steel going for weeks so obviously some other means was used to bring down the buildings. It was planned by whatever agency but there were elements in the government which knew it and allowed it, supported it for their own agenda. Just as one example which most people would not know about, everyone thinks that two buildings, which collapsed. It was not two, there was a third. Did you know that? Okay, so there are these two World Trade Center towers which collapsed unexplainably. They should never have collapsed. And then later in the afternoon, I believe around 3 p.m., there's something called building 7, which is part of the complex, but far away from these two, where no plane hit, no terrorist attack, no bombs and the entire building falls in exactly the same way as the other two, a series of floors one after another, boom boom boom and becomes powder rubble. And then there is a video, and this building by the way was the Securities and Exchanges Commission, SEC. The head of the SEC is on record that day on television, stating that building number 7 caught fire, we were not sure how strong it was so we had to pull it down. Now he says this, we had to pull it down. You can't pull down a building like this on a decision taken within hours. It takes days of preparation to insert special charges. There's a long process of calculation to ensure that the building collapses upon itself and does not fall on the side. So the whole thing had to be planted with charges to bring it down weeks before. And this is a dead giveaway. You have a BBC news feed which is live showing the video of the two towers which have collapsed and building 7 still intact. And the BBC news reader is saying we have just received news that building 7 has collapsed and you can see on the background on the live feed it has not yet collapsed so you can see there was a whole orchestration in which the media was fully played for the purpose of maximum shock value and it was done by elements again there are things people don't know on that very day, the US government was running 15 different exercises, military exercises, several of them involving planes which have been hijacked at the same time, on the same day. How would you do that? Why would you ever do that? It's ridiculous. And so when the actual hijacking takes place and you have news of the hijack going on the radio, you don't know whether it's part of the exercise or a real hijack and the planes were delayed because now there is a protocol if a plane deviates from its route then immediately an air force plane comes and either takes it back on route or shoots it down. It's part of a protocol. That protocol was held back by order because they were not sure whether it was a real hijack or one of those exercises going on. And none of this is spoken about in the public media, mainstream media. And when you bring these facts into the picture, you start wondering, something is not okay.
Narad (0:36:58):
And the Pentagon incident?
Sraddhalu (0:37:01):
Yes, in the Pentagon it's also quite unusual. The part where the plane is supposed to have crashed and blown it up, was under repair for weeks before. And there is a satellite picture which was released soon after, it was on Google Maps, anyone could view it, where there was a line, a white marker line which was drawn on the ground at the exact point where the plane later comes and hits. So it was as if there was a mark for a practice run. Now if you see the initial photographs of where the plane is supposed to have crashed, and I keep saying supposed to have, you will see the building of the Pentagon from the side and the top part of the arch still intact. The tail of a plane, of a Boeing is taller than the top part of the arch. So if the plane had actually slammed into the walls and gone inside, it should have broken the top part. So, or the tail should have stayed out. What is interesting is, there is a hole through the wall, which goes quite deep. It's a narrow round perfect hole, nothing of the tail, nothing of the wings on the side and no wings outside broken, no engine, nothing fallen outside. It's as if the whole plane neatly folds through and goes into a nice little round hole, which is too small for a Boeing plane. And then later, and you can see the green grass all intact and then later the fire engines come and they put sand all over and then they find a half-broken Boeing jet engine which does not belong to that model of the plane which is lying on the sand, not on the grass. So there's a whole cover up of this and conveniently that part of the Pentagon was not being used, there was no one there, except there were certain documents involving certain investigations which were conveniently kept there, which are lost.
I am linking it to the building 7 which was pulled down, where the SEC was doing investigations of fraud in the stock market. So, there are two things to be mentioned. Everyone knows what happened on September 11. No one knows what happened on September 10. That was the day Rumsfeld made a dramatic announcement that in their records of the military, two trillion dollars of military expenses are unaccounted for. Now he makes this announcement on 10th and on 11th there is this crash and all the documents relating to those records are conveniently kept in that part of the Pentagon where exactly the plane crashes and the SEC was investigating fraud in the stock market of several companies including it had all the documentation of heavy selling, they call it short selling in the stock market, heavy selling, short selling of airline stocks just before the 9-11 attacks. Somebody sold in the billions, airline stocks. They knew that the airline stocks would fall as a result of this. Someone knew it, made so much money and all the records were in the SEC building which are conveniently destroyed. So all of this put together, it's obvious that some very powerful people knew what was to happen, maybe were complicit in it in some way, but they used it for the objective which was, you suddenly created this fear in the US and particularly in anywhere in the world and used it to slam through a series of what you call it, executive orders or congressional bills, which reduce freedom of people and increase what would be called today the surveillance state. It's not a very happy thing when you look at it. Historically people will look at that point and say this is where it all began. And that's when the deep state really took over. Today what you have is this battle what you just read out, the third vision, that battle on both sides, pushing, pulling, what will come through and this is the hope that we are given and it's not from below that it happens, it's the light that dawns from above, which steps in and changes the whole thing. But I also particularly feel very moved by that whole description of the message that is given that, 'you be loyal to God, to country and then to the Union' and this is true for everybody, for every country what is described here is not just for the United States to some degree it has its ramifications all over the world. And everybody, every nation has to consciously make this alignment of the three things to God, to the nation and the soul of the nation not the ego of the nation and to the union of the people of the nation, that we have to be together not only as brothers and sisters in the nation, but in humanity, because we're all in it together.
